血流を遮断した場合および血流を遮断しないで制癌剤の動注を行い, 動注後早期の動脈壁の変化, 血栓形成の初期変化ならびに形成された血栓および動脈壁の修復過程について病理組織学的に検索した。制癌剤動注により使用動脈にみられる初期変化は, 血流を遮断すると否とにかかわらず, 血管壁では内皮細胞の障害, 管腔内では血小板の内膜への膠着およびフィブリン網の形成である。その主たる原因は内皮細胞にあたえる制癌剤の化学的損傷であると考える。血流の有無にかかわらず, 時間的差異はあるが, 動注開始後3時間から24時間には血栓が形成される。修復過程では, 動注終了後20日で血栓はほとんど結合織に置き換わり, その中に細小な血管があらわれる。40日で, 管腔中心部に疎通隙が形成され, 周囲の結合織の器質化は一層進んでいく。60日, 80日と経日的に疎通隙は増大するが, 100日でも本来の血管腔の大きさには至らなかった。血流を遮断し動注した場合の血栓の器質化および疎通隙形成の経過は血流のある場合にくらべて遅れる傾向がある。動脈壁の障害では制癌剤動注により惹起された変化は長期間を経ても回復は認められず, 内膜および中膜の欠損部では結合織が認められ,
