From the results of corrosion studies conducted under the conditions of zinc electrolysis, it was found that a small addition of silver to the lead anode brought about much improvement in stability of the oxide film, decreasing slime formation. This effect of silver increases up to 1.5 per cent Ag, but further increase in silver of the anode tends gradually to increase slime formation. The thickness of the oxide film increases linearly with increase in silver of the anode, as if the silver would aid increasing porosity of the oxide film.
