| 内容記述 | The so-called Titibu system in the area northeast of Kochi city, Shikoku, although mainly composed of Paleozoic formations, includes Mesozoic sediments mainly of the lower Cretaceous. Previously, it was considered that there exists a para-unconformity between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic rocks, without showing any clear evidences of noteworthy tectonic disturbance between them. Recently, N. Yamashita and others pointed out that several important evidences indicated a clino-unconformable relationship between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic rocks and consequently the long-held previous view must be revised. Independently, the writer studied the above mentioned important area for about four months from the spring of 1957 to the winter of 1959, and fortunately succeeded in finding an angular unconformity between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic rocks. The purpose of the present study is to extend knowledge on the tectonics of the Paleozoic and Mesozoic in Shikoku and to work out the biostratigraphy to establish reasonable zones in those rocks. The results of the present study are as follows : The Paleozoic system trends in general E-W or NE-SW, while the Cretaceous formations show complex trends composing the Yakyo-curve. From the study of the geological structure of the Paleozoic and Mesozoic formations the writer comes to the conclusion that the clino-unconformity advocated by N. Yamashita and others can also be proved to exists between the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic rocks in the present area. | |||||||
