| 内容記述 | A fairly precise information has been obtained on the two principal magnetostrictive constants, λ_<100> and λ_<111>, of face-centered cubic nickel-cobalt alloys, by analysing theoretically the measured data obtained previously by the present authors on the longitudinal magnetostriction of polycrystalline specimens and combining them with the already known data for the magnetostrictive constants of nickel. The information thus obtained indicates that the composition dependence of the magnetostrictive constants may be expressed by the following two equations : λ_<100>=(-49+1.96C)×10^<-6> and λ_<111>=(-30+0.09C)×10^<-6>, where C is the composition expressed in weight percent cobalt. It follows, then, that the saturation magnetostriction of polycrystalline specimens, λ_s, may be given by the expression : λ_s=(-38+0.84C)×10^<-6>, which is shown to be in a fairly good agreement with the measured data. | |||||||||
