内容記述 | Clear and interpretable ferromagnetic domain patterns have been observed, by the use of an usual magnetic colloid technique, on the four magnetically important surfaces, namely on the (110), (211), (100) and (111) surfaces, of unmagnetized nickel single crystals. A number of types of domain patterns observed according to the orientation of crystal surface with respect to the crystal axes have been analysed domain-theoretically in some detail, and thus the general nature of the magnetic domain structures in cubic crystals having directions of easy magnetization along trigonal axes could have been clarified. The (110) surface of nickel crystals presents simple plate patterns, tree patterns of three kinds corresponding to the tree patterns of two kinds on the (100) surface of silicon-iron crystals, and parallelogram-net patterns composed of 180° and 71° or 109° walls. The domain pattern observed on the (211) surface is simple, while those on the (100) and (111) surfaces are much complicated, as was expected. It has been found that the above-mentioned domain structures are influenced remarkably by the direction of alternating magnetic field applied for demagnetization. Dot patterns and deformed maze patterns have been observed on disturbed crystal surfaces. | |||||||||
