| 内容記述 | Hydrated iron oxide minerals (so-called limonite) formed under oxidizing conditions at ordinary temperatures and pressures as natural weathering products of pyrite in Japan were studied mineralogically by means of microscopic and X-ray examinations and of differential thermal and chemical analyses. The mineralogical composition of limonites after pyrite is mainly composed of goethite and lepidocrocite, but they are occasionally accompanied with hydrated hematite and amorphous ferric oxide hydrate in various quantity. The mineralogical composition of limonite ores and the degree of crystallinity of limonite minerals reflect their present environments as well as the history they have gone through. | |||||||
